Dr. K. Subramaniam (Rtd. IFS)

Dr. K. Subramaniam retired from the coveted Indian Forest Service and he had a very illustrious past. He had served in the government in different capacities, starting with functional field posts in the forest department as DFO and Conservator of Forests in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh State. He had served in the state administration in various departments like PWD, Housing & Environment, Home, Forests, Technical Education, Sports & Youth Affairs for different lengths of time. He was Secretary to the Chief Minister for about 9 years. Apart from working in the state administration, he had served as Head of the Department in Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Commissioner MGNREGA, Commissioner Food Safety and Controller of Drugs, Managing Director, Chhattisgarh Agriculture Marketing Board, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Chairman, VYAPAM, Director General, Chhattisgarh Council of Science & Technology. He continued as DG, Cost even after his superannuation from the Indian Forest Service. Presently he is giving his services to the Rajya Niti Aayog as Member.

Dr. Subramaniam has attended various training programs in India and abroad in prestigious Institutions like IIMs, NIRD, IIFM, XIM Bhubneshwar, IFMR Chennai, IRMA, Anand, University of British Columbia, Canada, etc.

He is a frequent speaker in various Training Institutions and Universities of Chhattisgarh and the Other States on subjects like Public Policy, Good Governance, Ethics and Professionalism, Bio-diversity conservation, climate change- adaptation and mitigation, and other soft skills required for professionals.
